About Us

Goodwin First Aid was established in 2001. The founder of the company felt that there had to be a better way to teach first aid. He wanted more doing and less sitting and watching videos. That is when he came up with the motto “First Aid is a participation activity, not a spectators sport”. This is why we use casualty simulations, experiential learning, and hands on teaching methods. You need to have the physical skills and the theory to really feel confident in a first aid situation. All of our instructors have strong wilderness and experiential education backgrounds.

Eric Goodfellow: Principal Instructor

Eric has over 20 years experience working with the public. He has worked with many different age categories from toddlers to seniors. He has worked as a professional wilderness guide, a group home supervisor, and as a camp director. Eric has been instructing first aid for over a decade and has taught for the public, summer camps, child service agencies, the private oil and gas sector, and for native populations on reserves. Safety and the steps to ensure safety when working with anyone have always been of utmost importance to Eric, it was this consciousness that lead him to become a first aid instructor over a decade ago.

Eric's combination of field experience and teaching experience make him knowledgeable and informative. Goodwin First Aid Services is proud to have Eric as our principal instructor.
